Le Terrain Vallonné is French, which roughly translated means The Undulating Landscape. The Gers, where we live, is in the south-west of France between Toulouse and Bordeaux. It is characterised by rolling hills of agricultural and pasture land beneath which stretch the flat planes of the Ardour and above which the Pyrenees loom. It is a very beautiful area scattered with yellow stone farm houses and hill top villages. Many of these settlements date back to the 12th Century and further.
